Variability practice

Edge of Green | Distance 10ft
Drill 14:
Create a corridor 4 feet away from the edge of the green. Then start to putt from 10 feet away from the corridor. Each putt has to be longer than the previous one. See if you can place 4 balls in the corridor.

If Ball not in corridor
Start again

If Ball 2 shorter than Ball 1
Start again

Time: 7 min | Number of Balls: 1

This is an exercise to practice your green reading abilities.

Find a breaking putt between 0 and 15 feet. Start with 10 feet first. Walk to the middle of the Putt and get a feeling for the slope with your feet.

Now place a Tee where you think the Target Point is. Then putt straight at the hole and see if your opposite point matches this Target Point.

Every time you find a putt just try to figure out with your body how much the break is.

Do this green reading style with your body feel for 7 Putts.  2ft | 4ft | 6ft | 8 ft | 10ft | 12 ft | 14 ft

Time: 7 min | Number of Balls: 1

This final drill brings it all together, it is about using all three factors in your individual style.

Just hit it, you learned these skills with the previous drills already.

Play the “Game of 12”

Setup 9 different putts
3x 5ft
3x 10 ft
3x 15 ft
From different angles or different holes.

The objective is to count the total number of strokes to hole each putt. Perfect is 9. Two-Putt for all is 18. You aim for 12, this is why it’s called “Game of 12”.

After all 9 putts, evaluate what was the biggest challenge
