Session 2

Skill Development: Ability to change your putt speed

Part 1 | Long Game Training

Time: 2o Minutes

Part 2 | Long Putts

Time: 2o Minutes

Let’s practice on your speed with your individual putt style. You can use your grip and stance from the previous drills. Now we want to roll the ball certain distances. Be careful to use bigger objects as a target, a small tee is definitely not a good practice target for long putts. Better use Golfballs as targets.

This game is now used very often to practice different long putts.

Video Explanation

How do you play it?

Setup two yellow balls, 12 feet away from each other. These will be your targets. You can use range balls as targets.

Practice only with one ball (white). Play your first putt from 12 ft away. Your target is the orange ball (Target Ball #1). Try to putt into the 3ft radius.

Now play your ball (white) back to target ball#2. Again into the radius of 3ft.

If putt #1 & putt #2 were in the radius of 3ft from the target balls you move to the next LEVEL.

If Putt#1 or Putt#2 are not in the radius then you stay at this LEVEL.

Next Level is plus 3ft, so from 12ft to 15ft.

LEVEL 2: Play a ball from 15ft to your target ball and then back.
